서울은 거대한 호텔이 되었습니다.

4월 1일 밤 11시 59분, 세상의 모든 화면에 같은 안내문이 나타났습니다.

"투숙해 주셔서 감사합니다. 체크아웃은 내일 정오입니다."

모두가 장난이라고 생각했습니다. 다음 날 정오, 얼굴 없는 호텔 직원들이 청소 카트를 밀며 거리로 나왔고, 사람이 있던 자리에는 흰 이불만 남았습니다.

그 시각 을지로 해피여인숙 카운터를 지키던 야간 아르바이트생 한결은 이 호텔의 지점 지배인이 되어 버렸습니다. 믿을 것은 단 하나의 규정뿐입니다. '투숙객은 체크아웃되지 않는다.' 그래서 한결은 오늘도 여인숙 문을 열고 멸망한 서울로 나섭니다.

Seoul has become one giant hotel.

At 11:59 p.m. on April 1st, the same notice appeared on every screen in the world.

"Thank you for staying with us. Checkout is at noon tomorrow."

Everyone took it for a joke. At noon the next day, faceless hotel staff came out into the streets pushing housekeeping carts, and where people had been, only white blankets were left.

Hangyeol, the night-shift clerk at Happy Lodge in Euljiro, was minding the counter at that very moment, and became the hotel's branch manager. There is only one rule to trust: guests are not checked out. So once again today, the lodge door opens, and the manager heads out into fallen Seoul.

다만 시간을 꼭 확인하세요. 마감이 다가오면 거리의 스피커에서는 객실 정리 안내 방송이 흘러나오고, 청소반장은 구역을 깨끗하게 "청소"하기 시작합니다. 시간 안에 체크인 포인트에 도착해 자물쇠를 부수지 못하면 주머니에 넣어 둔 물건을 빼고 모두 잃습니다.

가방은 아직 절반이나 비어 있습니다. 조금 더 탐색해 볼까요, 아니면 지금 돌아갈까요?

From the Euljiro tool market to Gwangjang Market, Myeong-dong, the City Hall Station underground mall, Jungbu Police Station and Namsan. Search the abandoned shops and streets, take what's worth taking, and if anyone's still alive out there, bring them home.

흰 이불, 벨보이, 룸서비스 카트, 미니바까지. 호텔은 손님을 순순히 놓아주지 않습니다.

Steel pipes, crowbars, fire axes, sledgehammers. Over 50 weapons are waiting across Seoul. No shield? Take a pot lid. Nothing to throw? Grab an empty soju bottle.

Guns hit hard. But the staff nearby hear the shots and come running. If you'd rather stay quiet, there are bows.

White Blankets, Bellhops, Room Service Carts, Minibars. The hotel doesn't let its guests go easily.

Furnish the guest rooms and build a Dining Room, a Lounge Bar, a Workshop and an Infirmary. Every star you earn adds a floor, until the two-storey lodge becomes a six-storey five-star hotel.

Survivors you bring back go to work as cooks, mechanics and doctors. The more demanding guests you satisfy, the higher your reputation climbs, and every Head Office review you pass opens a new manager privilege.

Take your valuables to Mrs. Park, the Namdaemun peddler. If you're lucky, she might pay you a fortune.

체크아웃 이후 4주가 지난 서울. 여인숙의 손님들은 저마다 무언가를 잃은 사람들입니다. 먼저 이야기를 꺼내는 사람도 있고 끝내 말하지 않는 사람도 있습니다. 무심코 지나친 누군가의 이야기는 사라져버릴지도 모릅니다.
